Star Trek: The Experience TNG Captain's Chair & Ops Station Restoration

On Sat. April 10th of this year, the California based entertainment memorabilia auction house Propworx presided over a historic "Star Trek: The Experience Warehouse Sale" in Las Vegas, Nevada at which many large bridge set fixtures, starfleet-themed panels, starship models and model sections as well as wardrobe items from the attraction were offered to the public. I was fortunate to acquire the Galaxy Class Captain's Chair and the Ops Station at this event; and have recently created some non-backlit LCARS panels to display with the furniture, as the original glass panels employed at The Experience were not included.

The following photos show the original state of the Captain's Chair and Ops Station console/chair at the warehouse sale itself; and shortly thereafter in an unused second bedroom ...

Below are some more recent images of the Galaxy Class starship fixtures with mock LCARS panels in place. While the LCARS graphics are simple ink jet printouts on clear transparency paper that have been affixed to the undersurface of the acrylic panels, and are not backlit at all; they are accurate representations of the actual displays and control menus designed by the TNG prop department for the screen used Captain's Chair and Ops Stations ...

Of course, my pet Minka has successfully completed extensive Starfleet training and is fully certified and competent in the use of the Operations console (maybe) ...
