Profiles In History - Dec 15 & 16, 2011 Icons of Hollywood Auction - Star Trek memorabilia

A total of 18 Star Trek memorabilia lots were offered at yesterday's Session 2 of the Profiles In History Icons of Hollywood Auction, which took place at The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, California. A number of Original Series items achieved very impressive results; including a mid-grade hand phaser prop which realized $79,950, a rare walking tribble which sold for $17,220, a Gene Roddenberry typed letter from 1966 mentioning the invention of the phaser and tricorder which witnessed a final price of $20,910, and a rare Science Officer tunic from the 1st TOS pilot episode "The Cage" which realized $9,225. From the feature film era and subsequent television series; a Star Trek VI James Doohan maroon Starfleet officer's uniform sold for $9,849 and a Patrick Stewart 3rd season command tunic from Star Trek: TNG realized $6,765.
