Profiles In History - July 30 & 31, 2012 - Hollywood Auction 49 - Star Trek Preview

On Tuesday, July 31st at 12:00 noon PDT, Session 2 of the Profiles In History Hollywood Auction 49 will take place at Profiles headquarters in Calabasas Hills, CA. A total of 12 lots of Star Trek memorabilia will be included in the sale; with a very impressive majority, no less than 8 of the 12 to be offered, consisting of props, costumes, artwork and scripts from Star Trek: The Original Series (1966-69).

Certainly the highlight of the Star Trek offerings will be an early 1st Season TOS gold velour starfleet tunic with full braid and patch worn by William Shatner as Captain Kirk and screen-matched to the episodes "Shore Leave" and "This Side of Paradise". This very tunic was the focus of a recent special photo study on this site; which may be viewed at the following link: http://www.startrekpropauthority.com/2012/07/special-photo-study-star-trek-original.html The pre-auction bid estimate for this spectacular costume is placed at $80,000 - $100,000.

Other highly noteworthy TOS items in the sale include an original screen used U.S.S. Enterprise bridge monitor graphic featuring top and left side views of the starship with a $20,000 - $30,000 bid estimate, a screen worn macrame necklace seen on actress Nancy Kovak as "Nona" in the 2nd season episode "A Private Little War", four sheets of vintage U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 decals for the 11 foot and 3 foot original Enterprise filming miniatures, and several typed letters signed by Gene Roddenberry on Desilu stationery regarding his work on the development of the first TOS pilots.

Non-TOS memorabilia that is available includes a hero, illuminating Starfleet Mark IX Medical Tricorder with removable hand scanner from Star Trek: Voyager; a Star Trek: First Contact EVA phaser rifle; and a boomerang hand phaser from Voyager.
