TOS Galileo Shuttlecraft to be Auctioned

The 24' long three-quarters scale exterior filming set of the Galileo Shuttlecraft, built in 1966 for the production of Star Trek: The Original Series and seen in the memorable 1st season episode "The Galileo Seven" (first airdate: January 5, 1967) will be sold at auction on June 28, 2012. The shuttlecraft set is heavily distressed and in need of extensive restoration; yet it remains a historic piece of TOS memorabilia. It will be sold by Kiko Auctioneers of Canton, Ohio via an online bidding session to be streamed live on the Proxibid auction website.

Presented below are some current interior and exterior photos of the shuttlecraft set. A large archive of images and auction info can be viewed at the following webpage maintained by kikoauctions.com: http://www.kikoauctions.com/?nav=auctions&details=2030 Interested bidders can register to participate in the sale at: https://www.proxibid.com/asp/Catalog.asp?aid=52711

Leonard Nimoy on "The Big Bang Theory"

Leonard Nimoy recently reprised his role as Mr. Spock; somewhat, by lending his voice to a 1975 Spock action figure in a 5th season episode of the hit CBS comedy series "The Big Bang Theory". The episode, entitled "The Transporter Malfunction", originally aired on March 29, 2012 and featured an impressive recreation of the planet Vulcan as well as the Gorn captain seen in the iconic first season TOS episode "Arena".

Below are some screen captures and video highlights from this hilarious episode, along with a pair of behind the scenes photos featuring Leonard Nimoy on set with the cast of the show during production ...

Original Series Style Sciences Dress from DS9 "Trials and Tribble-ations"

Below are some detailed photos of a 1996 blue velour TOS-style Sciences dress that was screen used in the celebrated Deep Space Nine 5th season episode "Trials and Tribble-ations" (airdate: November 4, 1996); which was created as a special 30th anniversary tribute to the Original Series. "Trials and Tribble-ations" featured many highly enjoyable special effects scenes in which the DS9 actors were inserted into TOS footage from "The Trouble with Tribbles" episode and were seen to interact with the crew and the events of that Original Series adventure; while undertaking a time travel mission into their past.

Special thanks to Star Trek collector Michael in California for his kind permission to display these photos.

The following images present details from two additional examples of screen used DS9 "Trials and Tribble-ations" TOS-style Sciences dresses - one featuring a single band of officer's braid at the cuffs.

These images are displayed with the gracious permission of a long time, major American collector and expert on Star Trek Original Series props and costumes; who wishes to remain anonymous ...
