Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Jem Hadar Fighter Models In Propworx May 2015 Auction
Presented below are some detailed photos of a pair of Jem Hadar Fighter filming miniatures that were screen used as deep background ships in various episodes of Star Trek: DS9, and are now offered as Lots 6 and 7 in the upcoming May 30th, 2015 Propworx Star Trek Auction V on LiveAuctioneers.
These ships possess an insectoid-like appearance, consisting of a large main body with two thin warp nacelles at the sides. Typically, this class of vessel would be seen on screen in formation with other smaller ships; and so the individual models would feature less elaborate construction details than are present on some of the larger starship filming miniatures. Each Jem Hadar Fighter exhibits an iridescent purple paint scheme combined with red and gold highlights. The two warp nacelles feature a green luminescent paint that glows when subjected to black / ultraviolet light. Each model measures approx. 7" x 8" x 1" in size and has a hole drilled through the center of the ship from the top for mounting on a support rod during filming. These fighters remain in excellent, screen used condition and come directly from the collection of Star Trek VFX Supervisor Gary Hutzel.
