Presented below are several detailed photos of the elegant grecian-style dress worn by actress Leslie Parrish as Lt. Carolyn Palamas in the 2nd season episode "Who Mourns for Adonais?" (first airdate: Sept. 22, 1967). Created by TOS Costume Designer Bill Theiss; this beautiful, flowing gown is highly regarded as one of the most attractive costumes seen in The Original Series.
As seen in the extreme close up shot immediately below, the skirt element was literally hanging around Leslie Parrish's waist by the strength of a thread! Technically, a pair of threads as both the top and bottom hook closures were identically configured (only the bottom attachment is fully visible in the photo).
Below is a behind-the-scenes costume test photo of Leslie Parrish wearing this outfit; followed by some imagery of the gown as seen in "Who Mourns for Adonais?".
