Star Trek Into Darkness - Latest U.S.S. Enterprise Bridge photos

Presented below are some recently released images of the latest U.S.S. Enterprise Bridge design, as featured in the two Abrams motion pictures "Star Trek" from 2009 and this years "Star Trek Into Darkness".  These photos show some of the workstation control surfaces in much greater detail than what was previously evident in earlier Bridge photographs.  A set of Bridge images released in early May of 2009 - just prior to the first feature film debut - can be seen in an earlier post on this site at the following link:  http://www.startrekpropauthority.com/2009/05/star-trek-xi-special-photostudy-on.html

"Star Trek Into Darkness" blasts into North American theaters in just over 3 weeks on May 17, 2013.

Star Trek Into Darkness - 2 Sneak Preview Clips

Below are a pair of newly released preview clips from the 12th Star Trek feature film, "Star Trek Into Darkness"; scheduled to debut in North American theaters on May 17, 2013.

The first clip shows Spock engaged at the heart of a ready-to-erupt volcano, and presents some familiar TOS character exclamations and even a highly memorable quote from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.

The second clip shows Kirk and crew in a shuttle making a narrow escape from what appears to be a redesigned Klingon battlecruiser, and features some TOS-like humorous interplay between the main cast.

The initial reaction to the film after its World Premiere in Australia is that it is a worthy successor to the 2009 effort - with plenty of fast paced action/adventure and stunning special effects.

Star Trek Original Series Phaser Rifle Sells For $231,000 at Julien's

Just moments ago, the historic Phaser Rifle prop from the TOS 2nd pilot "Where No Man Has Gone Before" (original airdate: Sep. 22, 1966), wielded by William Shatner in his first performance as Captain James T. Kirk, realized a final sales price of $231,000 as Lot 120 in Julien's 2013 Hollywood Legends entertainment memorabilia auction! The final price consists of a high bid of $192,500 and a 20% buyers premium of $38,500. This remarkable result makes the Phaser Rifle the most expensive Star Trek hand prop ever sold at auction.

On June 27, 2002, Captain Kirk's Original Series Command Chair from the Bridge of the U.S.S. Enterprise sold at Profiles In History's historic Robert Justman Star Trek Auction for $304,750; and in the October 5-7, 2006 Christie's 40th Anniversary Star Trek Auction, the 6.5 foot Enterprise D filming miniature built for Star Trek: The Next Generation realized a final sales price of $576,000.

The exciting emergence of the TOS Phaser Rifle at auction was the topic of an earlier article on this site which may be seen at the following link: http://www.startrekpropauthority.com/2013/03/star-trek-original-series-william.html

A special video released by Julien's several weeks after the original auction announcement may be viewed in a followup article on this site at: http://www.startrekpropauthority.com/2013/03/juliens-auctions-tos-phaser-rifle-video.html
