Presented below is a collection of breathtaking artwork that was developed as concept art during the production of the new Star Trek: Strange New Worlds television series, the 8th live action adventure series in the history of the franchise, which is set to premiere on Thursday, May 5, 2022 on Paramount+. All of these beautiful images are on display as part of a special Strange New Worlds exhibit at Star Trek: Mission Chicago, the ViacomCBS sponsored fan convention taking place from April 8 - 10, 2022 at the massive McCormick Place center in Chicago, Illinois. The artwork encompasses not only a number a locations onboard the redesigned Starship Enterprise - such as the Bridge, Engineering, the Transporter Room, SickBay, a Briefing Room and a Dining Lounge - but also features a variety of alien vessel encounters and action scenes that might hint at some of the adventures to be seen in the forthcoming Season One episodes.
Special thanks to my friend and fellow Star Trek fan T.J. Babinetz, currently on site at Star Trek: Mission Chicago, for his very gracious permission to display his detailed photography of this concept art in this article.
This post will commence by presenting the artwork individually, and then conclude with a few photographs to convey how the imagery was grouped together for display on the convention floor. Just click on any of the pictures below to view an enlarged version ...
